Bina Patel

Overview

Since 2013 Bina has worked at City, University of London first as a visiting clinical tutor and then, from 2022, as a lecturer in the Department of Optometry and Visual Sciences.

In 2001 Bina graduated from City with a first- class honours degree in Optometry. Since registration she has worked in a number of roles in community practice, including as a pre-registration supervisor and mentor. Presently she also works as a specialist optometrist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, an Assessor for the College of Optometrists, a Case Examiner for the General Optical Council and is part of the faculty team for Johnson and Johnson Vision.

In 2023 Bina attained her Masters in Academic Practice, which she passed with distinction. In her final year study she conducted research on embedding digital literacies in the Optometry curriculum.
