About the speaker
Dr Lia Litosseliti is a Linguistics scholar at City St George's University of London and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, with research interests in the areas of gender and language, discourse analysis and research methodologies.
She is the author of Using Focus Groups in Research (2003) and Gender and Language: Theory and Practice (2006); editor of the Research Methods in Linguistics series (2010, 2018, 2025); and author and editor of several papers and books in these areas.
Lia has served as President of the International Gender and Language Association (IGALA) and Associate Editor of Gender and Language, and currently serves as external examiner and reviewer for a range of universities, funding bodies and journals.
