Abstract
Join us for a series of ‘flash’ presentations by members of the SPARC research centre showcasing the range of our research interests and how they reflect upon current concerns in the fields of sound practice and research.
What does sound make possible?
SPARC investigates the creative, scientific, and experiential roles of sound. From health and wellbeing to environmental awareness, we explore how creative sound practice, the study of sound, and sound’s role within multisensory experience, can be used to address contemporary challenges, from health to the environment.
They aim to build a global, interdisciplinary community of practitioners, researchers and creative thinkers, creating an environment that empowers a new generation to develop innovative and impactful ideas about the power of sound in today's world.
The Music Research Seminars are hosted by the Department of Performing Arts at City St George’s, University of London and SPARC research centre (Sound Practice and Research at City St George’s). They bring together world-leading artists, practitioners, and scholars in the broad fields of music and sound.
Seminars are open to the public in person and online. Please register to attend and receive a Zoom link.
Attendance at City St George's events is subject to our terms and conditions.
