The event is free to attend and will be primarily in person, but online attendance will also be possible.
Over the past 15 years, Impact has become an increasingly important part of the UK research landscape.
Following a successful ERC and PGR training event in June 2023, the next in our ‘Understanding REF Impact in Music’ series will be a half-day workshop hosted by the City St George’s SPARC (Sound Practice and Research at City) research centre.
Topics to be covered will include working with non-academic partners to develop impactful work; how to write a successful impact case study; and the assessment of impact in REF.
A number of travel bursaries (up to £50) are available for PhD students and ECRs without access to other supporting funds. To apply, please send a written statement explaining the need for support (no more than a single A4 page) and itemised costing of travel expenses to Newton Armstrong. The deadline for receipt of applications is Monday 20th October, 2025.
