What motivated you to pursue the LLM International Business Law?
From the early days of my legal studies, I knew that my career aspirations extended beyond borders. I have always been fascinated by the complexities of international law and the way legal frameworks shape global commerce.
Pursuing an LLM in International Business Law was a natural step in my journey: one that aligned with both my intellectual curiosity and my professional ambitions. I prioritised academic development because I believe that a strong foundation in legal theory, combined with a global perspective, is essential for navigating the intricacies of cross-border transactions and international regulations. The LLM programme provided me with the opportunity to engage with diverse legal systems, collaborate with professionals from different cultures, and refine my expertise in international business law.
What were you doing before studying the LLM?
Lexist Law Firm- Legal Intern BES Law Firm- Legal Intern at Litigation Department especially in fields of Civil Law, Civil Procedural Law, Commercial Law, Enforcement Law, Law of Property and Law of Obligations. I have been working in enforcement offices, and dealt with creating case files, writing petitions, and submitting them to courts, attending hearings and defending clients.
BTS&Partners - which has a place in the “Legal 500” ranking list by being first law firm in Türkiye - specialises in IT Law and Telecom and offers consultancy to several major international clients such as Facebook, Microsoft, and Samsung on a continuous basis with matters including regulatory development and compliance, transactions, data protection and digital transformation projects.
What are you doing now? How did The City Law School prepare you for your current role?
Currently, I serve as the Managing Partner at U2ULaw P.C. This role involves providing legal consultancy services while offering strategic leadership in technology and innovation-focused projects.
U2ULaw P.C. specialises in intellectual property, technology law, immigration law, and employment law, particularly for startups, tech companies, and international businesses. As Managing Partner, I not only shape the firm’s overall strategy but also work closely with teams to deliver innovative and effective solutions to our clients.
Studying at The City Law School through distance learning provided me with a unique and enriching experience, allowing me to balance my professional commitments in Istanbul while advancing my legal expertise. The flexibility of the programme enabled me to apply what I was learning in real-time to my work as a lawyer, bridging academic knowledge with practical legal practice.
Beyond the coursework, one of the most valuable aspects of my LLM journey was becoming part of The City Law School’s global network. Although I was studying remotely, I later had the opportunity to connect with City University alumni in Los Angeles, where I built strong professional relationships and engaged in their events and meetings.

My mother sponsored my education. My mother has always been my greatest supporter and the driving force behind my education. Despite facing numerous challenges, she worked tirelessly to ensure I had access to the best opportunities.
Her sacrifices, from long working hours to personal compromises, have shaped my academic journey. She taught me the value of perseverance and hard work, inspiring me to strive for excellence. Her unwavering belief in my potential gave me the confidence to pursue my dreams.
