Overview
Matt Gooderson (BA MA SFHEA) is an award-winning British music artist, producer, composer, songwriter, and academic, renowned for his contributions to the music industry and education. He first gained prominence as a founding member of the London-based indie-electro band Infadels, established in 2003. Serving as the guitarist and programmer, Gooderson played a pivotal role in the band's success, which included over 500 performances across 20 countries, including shows at London’s Southbank, Glastonbury, and Coachella. The band achieved a number-one dance album and released an independent single that sold over 50,000 copies, earning them an Impala Silver Award.
Beyond his work with Infadels, Gooderson has built a prolific career in music production and composition. His work has been featured in various media, including films by the prestigious A24 Productions, popular video games such as Gran Turismo and FIFA, television series like CSI: Miami, and advertising campaigns for brands such as Mazda and 3 Mobile. His compositions have collectively amassed millions of streams, reflecting his broad appeal and versatility.
Matt Gooderson is also committed to education and research. He serves as the Programme Director for the MA in Music Management at City St George University of London. Gooderson specialises in artist development and music business, with a teaching philosophy that emphasises creativity, entrepreneurial practices, and the promotion of equality, diversity, and inclusivity through authentic, real-world assessments.
As a researcher, Gooderson explores the intersection of music production, technology, and the creative process, with a particular focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on creativity. He actively engages with both the public and the industry through academic publications and discussions, aiming to help others enhance their creative potential.
Gooderson’s multifaceted career, blending artistic innovation with academic rigour, underscores his dedication to advancing the music industry and nurturing the next generation of creative talent.
