Overview
Kseniya Oksamytna is a Reader in International Politics at City St George's, University of London. Kseniya’s research interests are international organisations, international security, international inequalities, international norms, and peacekeeping.
She is the recipient of 2025 Dean’s Award for Excellence in Research and Innovation. Her book, "Advocacy and Change in International Organizations: Communication, Protection, and Reconstruction in UN Peacekeeping" (Oxford: Oxford University Press, 2023) is the winner of the 2024 Chadwick F. Alger Book Award by the International Studies Association and Special Mention for the 2024 Academic Council on the United Nations System (ACUNS) Book Award. Her artice "Race and International Organizations" (with Sarah von Billerbeck) received Honourable Mention for 2025 Best Article Award by the Diplomatic Studies Section of the International Studies Association.
In 2025-2026, she is seconded to the International Crisis Group thanks to the British Academy ODA Global Innovation Fellowship. In the autumn term of 2026-2027, she will be based at Africa Multiple Cluster of Excellence at the University of Bayreuth. In 2027, she will pursue Leverhulme-funded research project "Legitimising Foreign-Backed Rule: Local Intermediaries in Ukraine and the Democratic Republic of Congo".
Kseniya sits on the Editorial Board of "International Peacekeeping" and "Global Governance".
Before joining City St George's, Kseniya held research and teaching positions at King’s College London and the University of Warwick.
