Overview

Dr. Mehran Masdari is a prominent Aerospace Engineering expert currently serving as a Lecturer at City University of London, a position he has held since 2024. He initially joined the university as a Research Fellow and Visiting Lecturer in September 2022. A Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society, Dr. Masdari has made significant contributions to the field of aerospace engineering, particularly in experimental aerodynamics, measurement techniques, data analysis, and image processing.

During his tenure at City University, Dr. Masdari has spearheaded innovative research focused on instrumentation for image processing to optimize heat transfer using pulsating flows. He lectures on subjects such as 'Measurements and Data Analysis', 'Advanced Aerodynamics', and 'Aeroelasticity', providing valuable knowledge and insights to his students.

Prior to his current roles, Dr. Masdari served as an Assistant Professor at the University of Tehran from January 2012 to June 2022, where he established and led the Experimental Aerodynamic Research Laboratory (EARL). He earned his PhD in Aerodynamics from Sharif University of Technology, with his dissertation focusing on the boundary layer transition on a swept wing.

Dr. Masdari is a prolific author and researcher, having published extensively on various topics within his field, including the aeroacoustic characteristics of drone propellers and energy harvesting from flow-induced motions.

With his ability to communicate in multiple languages and strong project management skills, Dr. Masdari continues to enhance the academic and research landscapes at City University, advancing the frontiers of aerospace engineering through his dedicated teaching and innovative research projects.
