The Future Fund Bursaries provide financial support for undergraduate students to use towards their living costs.
Are you a student in financial need? Are you worrying about how you will buy a laptop, fund your travel, or pay your bills? Is your household income less than £35,000? Are you first in your family to go to university or do you live in the Borough of Islington, Camden or City of London. If so, please apply for a Future Fund Bursary!
Thanks to The George Daniels’ Educational Trust, Richard Reeve’s Foundation and the Hadyn and Joanna Cunningham Charitable Trust we have bursaries that will cover either your current or all the years of your studying at City St George's. The value is up to £5000 per year, more details are below.
Applications are open now and will close at the end of February 2025. All applicants will be notified and paid by end of April 2025.
Essential criteria
- Household income assessed by Student Finance England (SFE) of £35,000 or less
- Available to Home fee status students who are studying an undergraduate degree course e.g. BA, BSc, BEng/MEng and enrolled full-time for the 2024/25 academic year
- Preference given to students who are first in their family to attend university.
Specific criteria
We have three types of bursaries available to the following applicants.
George Daniels Educational Trust
Is only available to students on any BEng or MEng engineering course.
Richard Reeves Foundation
Applicants must have lived in one of the following London Boroughs: Islington, Camden or City of London for at least one year prior to commencing their studies at City St George's and must be aged 25 or under.
Hadyn and Joanna Cunningham Charitable Trust
Applicants must have attained AAA or above at A-level and be in the first year of their degree.
Selection and Notification
Applications will be assessed based on financial hardship (and academic merit for the Cunningham Bursary). Therefore, please use the statement section in the application form to provide as much detail as possible about your personal financial circumstances and how this bursary will be help you. Short-listed applicants may be required to provide further information.
Applicants will be notified of the outcome via their City St George's email address by end of March 2025.
The panel’s decision will be final and cannot be appealed. Students on engineering courses will be contacted by the School of Science and Technology regarding the outcome of their application
Additional information
The Philanthropy team provide an annual update to the donors to demonstrate how their support has helped. Recipients may be contacted by the Philanthropy team to provide a testimonial on how the bursary has helped them.
Recipients of multi-year support may also be asked to write an end of year update on how the funding has helped them each year.
