This is a recurring event: View all events in the series “Taster sessions”
We live in a rapidly changing media landscape, where companies and creators navigate social media optimisation, algorithms and trends, the affordances and challenges of AI, and a vast pool of short- and long-form content (and everything in between). Now perhaps more than ever, future media practitioners (content creators, editors, producers, commissioners, and media managers) need to be aware of best practice methods and approaches for creating and delivering engaging and innovative media content.
In this session, Dr Bence Bardos, Lecturer in Media Production and Digital Content Creation, will introduce some of the key starting concepts at the heart of the Postgraduate MCCI modules ‘Digital Content Creation’ and ‘Audiovisual Media Production’ at City St George’s:
- What aspects (company/creator values, target audiences etc.) to consider for pitching and commissioning digital content
- The different stages of project development (from idea to pre-production to production to post-production to delivery)
- The fundamentals of digital storytelling
- Digital media and digital genres: digital adverts, TikTok trends, thumbnails and logos etc.
This session is open to anyone with an interest in the roles and work of media practitioners in digital cultures, and a glimpse into industry-facing best practice methods to help you on your journey of becoming media professionals. The session features content which is currently offered to students in the MA Media & Communications, MA Marketing Communications and MA Public Relations and Strategic Communications programmes, and which will be relevant to students in the MA Media Management programme as well.
Attendance at City St George's events is subject to our terms and conditions.
